MeituEve Lab won the championship in the category of multi-disease assisted diagnosis for fundus color photos, expanding the application of AI technologies.

The 2021 "Miying" Medical Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Competition, jointly initiated by Tencent and a number of medical institutions and university scientific research units, aimed to explore new ideas and solutions for many clinical medical problems. The competition attracted a number of top universities and scientific research institutions from the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and more from domestic and international institutions, with a total of over 400 teams, composed of nearly 700 people, competing around the integration of artificial intelligence technology and clinical medicine.
The "Tailless eye" algorithm R&D team from MeituEve Lab used AI to automatically classify five optical diseases, including glaucoma, shortening the screening and diagnosis period of eye diseases. Its performance won first place in three dimensions: clinical practicality, algorithm innovation, and algorithm performance and stood out from more than 100 teams to win the championship in the track of Multi-Disease Assisted Diagnosis for Fundus Color Photos.
In addition to winning the technical competition, MeituEve Lab also recently published a collaborative paper titled "Eye Aging Quantitative Analysis and Solutions Based on Deep Learning" alongside Shanghai UNISKIN at the annual meeting of dermatologists of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the National Conference on Cosmetic Dermatology. The study utilizes deep learning methods to quantify ocular aging and obtain age-related biologically meaningful ocular aging phenotypes. At the same time, according to the different dimensions of eye aging, multi-target eye products that are designed as eye aging solutions were tested, and the effectiveness of the products were verified in the paper.

In 2017, Meitu established the MeituEve Lab based on the work of the Meitu Imaging & Vision Lab (MT Lab). MeituEve Lab has since developed in-depth skin imaging algorithms that conform to strict medical standards, gradually improving the accuracy of AI skin detection.
