The Meitu App ranks Top 50 in the "2021 Brands that Empower Women" list

Recently, the Global Founders Summit, hosted by the well-known iAsk Media, released the "2021 Brands that Empower Women" list. The Meitu App, a subsidiary of Meitu, was selected as one of the Top 50 brands along with Hermès, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and many other global brands.

According to the "2020 Women's Quality Life Trend Insight Report", released by CBNData, the number of female consumers in China reached 400 million, with a consumption power worth RMB 10 trillion. With artificial intelligence, cloud computing, 5G, and other technological innovations, along with the trends in quality consumption upgrades, new scenarios and new models are emerging, and the overall trends for brands serving women are developing in a personalized, convenient, and healthy direction.


As the first product of Meitu, the Meitu App has accumulated more than 1 billion users, of which 85% are female users and more than 800 million female users are loyal supporters of the app. In recent years, the Meitu App has not only been the leader in image beautification, but also in generating and integrating beauty content, including makeup, skincare, OOTD, hairstyle, and more. The Meitu App has focused on the needs of female users, becoming a close "friend" to help users become more beautiful in all aspects of life, from the virtual world to the real world.


During this year's Spring Festival, benefiting from the newly upgraded Templates feature, the Meitu App achieved a record high of over 31 million daily active users, an increase of 13% from the Spring Festival of 2020. With the Templates feature, users can skip the image editing process and quickly complete their image beautification and share their work on social media. This feature fits perfectly with the positioning of the Meitu App as an image beautification application and has helped generate an increase in interactions on social media platforms. The data shows that on New Year's Eve alone, the number of images saved by users on the Meitu App exceeded 120 million. The number of Meitu Templates saves on New Year's Eve increased by 9 times compared with saves on normal days, and the number of community users on Meitu App increased by 98% year-on-year.


Meitu also launched the Meitu Creator Platform (MCP) in 2020. The MCP's PGC content and the Meitu Templates' UGC content has constructed a content ecosystem covering artists, template creators, users and brands, allowing Meitu to upgrade from providing image beautification tools to providing users with a quality aesthetic content generation platform. Thanks to the new breakthrough in content ecology, the Meitu App's user engagement continues to rise. The average daily usage time of the app increased from 13.6 minutes in H2 2019 to 16.1 minutes in H2 2020.
