Meitu Creator Platform and the School of Design at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute cooperate on project to integrate creative practice into the development of digital art
2021-10-19Recently, Meitu Creator Platform (MCP), a subsidiary of Meitu, cooperated with the School of Design at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute to launch a project named "Design of Graphic Symbols and Icons in AR Special Effects". The Meitu Museum of Future Art, an initiative of MCP, launched an online exhibition for the cooperative project, titled "Cyber Beauty - Close to the Future". It integrates technology with digital art to construct a future of science and technology from the perspective of the post-00's generation.
MCP's focus is on the development of digital art and helping creators realize their artistic ideas by providing artists with the platforms and tools they need. By cooperating with the School of Design at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, MCP is bringing young students the opportunity to witness an immersive digital art experience, thereby cultivating a new generation of digital art professionals.
The future aesthetics from the perspective of the youth
To exhibit student's creations, MCP created an online exhibition, titled "Cyber Beauty - Close to the Future", on the Meitu Museum of Future Art, which includes 53 works that are displayed in three separate exhibition areas.

Cyberpunk-style movies and games are very popular among young people, providing students with a very imaginative creative space in this exhibition. The participants integrated the elements of science and technology into real life scenes, while using oriental elements to create impactful visual effects that combine the virtual and the real. The use of neon effects helped make the makeup effects unique and eye-catching.
MCP promotes the co-creation of future aesthetics
In order to meet the needs of digital art creators, MCP, with the responsibility of promoting and popularizing digital art, launched the MCP Studio AR creation tool, providing creators with Meitu’s leading technology to realize their imaginative works.
This cooperation helped students to comprehensively improve their professional capabilities, create digital art of great aesthetic value, and more intuitively perceive the development of digital art. Lu Xi, Deputy Dean at the School of Design, said: “Gen Z has subversive changes in lifestyles, such as social circle, spiritual consumption, personality labels, community life, beauty preferences, and more. Starting with the project "Cyber Beauty - Close to the Future", Meitu and our school are jointly exploring new design contexts and expressions that interweave humanities, technology and aesthetics. The unconventional experience and instant results reflect the imagination of Generation Z. The future of digital art is unpredictable. Meitu and our school will continue to discover the possibilities of cooperation in the field of beauty. ”
The development of digital art is inseparable from young creators. By cooperating with universities, MCP is opening the door to digital art for young creators and supporting young creators with the technology and tools they need, in hopes of creating more possibilities for the development of digital art in our world.
