Meitu's Digital Communication Project for Traditional Chinese Culture Selected as a 2025 Global Trends Case
2025-12-26On December 26, Huanqiu.com's 2025 Global Trends Cases were announced, and Meitu's Digital Communication Project for Traditional Chinese Culture was selected as a representative case of cultural empowerment in 2025.
In 2025, Meitu actively responded to the government work report's call to "accelerate the development of new cultural forms and promote the protection and utilization of intangible cultural heritage," enabling AI to participate in the creative reconstruction of traditional Chinese culture. The company continuously revitalized three major "Guochao" ("National Trend") IPs: "Traditional Patterns," "Traditional Colors," and "Traditional Clothing," attracting large numbers of young users to participate while injecting new vitality into the innovative development of traditional culture.
As the first domestic enterprise to launch a systematic digital communication project for traditional Chinese culture, Meitu has collaborated with hundreds of intangible cultural heritage inheritors, illustrators, and AI designers to produce hundreds of sets of materials, with global usage exceeding 500 million. This has enabled China's rich traditional culture to evolve from "museum displays" to "co-creation by all," and from "regional symbols" to a "global language."
A Meitu spokesperson said the company is committed to interpreting Chinese traditional culture via new languages and technologies—preserving its essence while making it youthful and fashionable. Meitu will also continue expanding into global markets, positioning its products as a cultural bridge between China and the world, helping more people to discover and fall in love with traditional Chinese culture.
